About Síle

A Career Built on Understanding Life's Biggest Transitions

The Spark

Síle's journey into retirement coaching began with something deeply personal. She watched her own parents struggle with the identity loss that followed their retirements. Both had built their entire adult lives around their careers — and when that ended, they didn't know who they were anymore. It wasn't about money. It was about meaning. That experience stuck with her, and it's what eventually led her to study psychology at University College Dublin.

The Foundation

After graduating with a Master's degree in Applied Psychology, she spent eight years as an employee assistance programme counselor in Dublin. She worked with mid-to-late career professionals — people at crossroads. That's when she noticed something important: there was a massive gap in the support available. Financial planning was everywhere. But nobody was really addressing the emotional and psychological side of leaving work behind. The identity reconstruction. The daily structure that disappears. The sense of purpose that evaporates. She completed her International Coach Federation certification in 2015 and started building something different.

The Work

For over a decade now, she's worked with more than 2,400 individuals navigating the retirement transition. She's developed specialized frameworks for routine restructuring, purpose discovery, and emotional resilience during major life changes. Her research and insights have been featured in The Irish Times and RTE Radio. She's a regular contributor at professional development conferences across Ireland, and she works closely with belmontiq Limited to create evidence-based educational resources that actually help people build meaningful second chapters.

The Why

What drives Síle is straightforward: she believes retirement isn't an ending. It's an opportunity. A chance to craft a life aligned with your authentic values — not the values your career demanded. She's helped people move from "What's my identity now?" to "This is who I actually am, and here's what I'm building." That shift changes everything. And she's committed to making that transformation accessible to everyone navigating this critical life phase.

Areas of Specialisation

Deep Knowledge Across Retirement's Critical Dimensions

Síle's work covers the full spectrum of post-career challenges. Her expertise isn't theoretical — it's built from years of direct experience with Irish professionals at every stage of the transition.

Post-Career Identity Rebuilding

Helping professionals untangle their sense of self from their job titles. She guides people through discovering who they actually are — separate from what they do for work.

Daily Routine Restructuring

Creating new rhythms and structures that replace the framework work once provided. Not boring schedules — meaningful daily patterns that support wellbeing and purpose.

Emotional Resilience in Transitions

Navigating the grief, identity loss, and emotional turbulence that often accompanies retirement. She provides frameworks for processing these feelings and building emotional strength.

Purpose Discovery After Work

Moving beyond the question "What should I do?" to "What matters to me?" She helps people craft meaningful lives aligned with their core values and authentic interests.

Relationship Transitions

Supporting couples and families through the relational changes that retirement brings. More time together often means renegotiating dynamics that worked during working years.

Evidence-Based Educational Resources

Creating research-informed content that helps people understand the retirement transition intellectually and practically. Knowledge as a tool for empowerment and confidence.

How Síle Works

Her approach is built on three core principles

1

Authentic Understanding

She doesn't use generic retirement templates. Every person's transition is different. Síle listens deeply, asks hard questions, and builds approaches specific to who you actually are and what actually matters to you.

2

Evidence-Based Methods

Her frameworks aren't invented out of thin air. They're grounded in psychology research, tested across thousands of real people, and continuously refined based on what actually works in practice.

3

Practical Action

Insights mean nothing without action. She helps you move from understanding the problem to actually changing your daily life, building new routines, discovering real purpose, and rebuilding your identity.
